The elements of design are the fundamental aspects of any visual design which include shape, color, space, form, line, value, and texture. Graphic designers use the elements of design to create an image that can convey a certain mood, draw the eye in a certain direction, or evoke several feelings We will look at the seven elements of design and how artists use them in compositions in the art world. We will create a “sketch” using each of the seven design elements. At least one of those designs will be interpreted into a fused fabric collage. Your completed fabric collage and sketches can be used as inspiration for future works of art. A kit for this workshop is also available.
